As a Principal Mechanical Engineer in the Westinghouse Parts Business, you will work in our New Stanton facility to support the WPB Procurement (Parts) Engineering team. The New Stanton site works on projects to enhance plant safety and reliability by providing the instrumentation and control, pumps and motors, and electro-mechanical products and services that our customers require. You will support spare parts for operating plant mechanical products.
You will report to the Manager of Procurement Engineering. This is a mobile role that is expected on site in New Stanton at least 2-3 days per week.
Prepare and review technical packages including drawings, specifications, and procurement requirements for various mechanical products.
Work as part of a cross-functional team including quality engineering, supply chain management, marketing, customer service, and the supplier base.
Provide technical input during the proposal process.
Develop and/or maintenance of Material Master Data and Parts Baselines in SAP.
Determine critical equipment characteristics to support equipment qualification and commercial dedication activities.
Assist in the development of equipment qualification test procedures, evaluate test results and review final reports.
Prepare Commercial Dedication Instructions.
Provide engineering support to manufacturing and shop operations for a variety of products.
Perform ASME Section III and/or Section VIII Engineering activities including but not limited to:
Prepare ASME Design Specifications and Design Reports
Review ASME Engineering supplier submittals
A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
5+ Years' experience required.
Have a working knowledge of the ASME code with Respect to Section III and/or Section VIII
Prior experience generating ASME Design Specifications and Design Reports with respect to ASME Section III and/or Section VIII
Experience with fabrication of ASME code components is a plus.
Knowledge of mechanical components including, but not limited to pumps, valves, mechanical seals, motors, etc. is preferred.
SAP knowledge, especially production, requisitioning, and material master data management is desired.
Experience with writing technical requirements for the procurement of equipment and developing the input for these specifications is a plus.
Familiarity with the AP1000 design process is a plus.
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills, is estimated to be ($103,200 to $129.000)
